The Oilfield and Pills Gave Me America

I am going traveling. Going to be gone for a long time.  On May 27th I drop myself out of plane from Alaska to Seattle. In that port city I shall begin my incredible journey backpacking, hitchhiking, and bussing across America.

The title of this article will be the name of my on-going traveling series. The meaning of the title is simple. For 10 months I worked in the oilfield as a lowly sample catcher. The lowest of the low on the totem pole, lower than a worm (roustabout) but higher in stature than the cook in the various camps (Sometimes.) I’ve traveled some with my job, but mostly I”ve worked in the deep arctic heart of northern Alaska known as Prudehoe Bay. At the time of this writing it is starting to get pretty warm, 10-15 degrees at least! Of course everything sucks right now since everything is pseudo melting.

But what about pills?

The pills part of the title comes from my other profession as a network marketer. As I travel around the good ol’ US of A I will be promoting my Visalus business. Not only does this make it a tax write off (My whole journey I hope!) but I also have more of a mission other than just wandering around as was my original plan.

America was given to me.

Through the force of oil field and the health care of Visalus-branded supplements, my sojourn was birthed. I’ll be putting all these articles in my traveling section.

When I get more time I’ll put up pictures of my pack and some more information about what I am doing. Oh! And my new laptop, it’s only a little bit bigger than my hand. These Asus EEE’s are crazy!!

Off I go, with one last word, hint, clue to the mysterious activities I shall condone in on my sojourn…

Two words…

Storm Chasing.
